Boeing Research and Development Expenses

The research and development expenses of Boeing increased to $2,852 million in 2022 compared to $2,249 million in the prior fiscal. The company experienced growth in its net revenue in 2022 compared to the prior year. However, the aircraft maker has continued to experience net losses since 2019. In 2022, its total net loss remained $5,053 million.

Boeing experienced growth in its total net revenue in 2022 compared to the prior year. However, it incurred net loss higher than the previous year. Boeing’s total net revenue in 2022 remained $66,608 million compared to $62,286 million in the prior year. However, its net loss also grew to $5,053 million in 2022 compared to $4,290 million in 2021. Boeing has continued to incur net losses over the past four years. In 2019, it had incurred a net loss of $636 million, which increased to $11,940 million in 2020.
