2021: While the net revenues of American Airlines increased in 2021 compared to the previous year, it has still not returned to the prepandemic level. The company generated $29,882 million in net revenues in 2021 compared to $17,337 million in 2020. However, its net revenues in 2019 were $45,768 million, which was the highest in its history. 

In 2021, the passenger revenues of the American Airlines Group were equal to $26,063 million compared to $14,518 million in 2020. Its cargo revenues were $1,314 million compared to $769 million in 2020.

It also announced new seasonal nonstop services beginning in summer 2019 between PHL and Dubrovnik, Croatia, Berlin, Germany and Bologna, Italy.
