The chart above displays the net revenue of Amazon, the ecommerce giant and leading cloud brand from 2005 to 2022 in millions. Its revenue climbed past $500 billion for the first time in its history in 2022. The company generated $514 billion in consolidated net revenue in 2022 compared to $469.8 billion in the prior year. Its revenue growth in 2022 was mainly driven by growth across AWS and third party seller services. The company generated more than $80 billion from AWS.

2021: Amazon’s net revenues during fiscal 2021 grew to $469,822 million compared to $386,064 milion in 2020. The company generated $241.787 billion from products and $228.035 billion from services in 2021. 

Apart from being the leading e-commerce brand globally, Amazon is also a leading cloud player. Its range of cloud services has grown quite large over the past few years. AWS offers several resources for developers and business organizations. In the recent years, it has seen a lot of fast and profitable growth. The above table shows how its revenue has grown over last several years.

North America is the largest market of Amazon accounting for the largest part of its revenue. However, internationally too the persence and sales of Amazon have seen impressive growth in recent years.

2019:

In 2019, the net sales of Amazon reached $280.5 billion compared to $232.9 billion in 2018, yoy growth of around 20%. Net sales of the company grew across all the three business segments North America, International, and AWS compared to the previous year. While North America generated $170.8 billion in net sales compared to $141.4 billion during the previous year, net sales of the company internationally grew to $74.7 billion compared to $65.9 billion during the previous year. AWS generated $35 billion in net sales in 2019 compared to $25.6 billion in 2018.

2018: Its net sales internationally were higher than 65 Billion USD in 2018 and revenue from AWS was also higher than 25 Billion USD. AWS sales saw 47% growth in 2018 over 2017.  North America represented 61% of the net sales of Amazon wheereas the inertnational market accounted for 28% and AWS 11% of the brand’s revenue.

Amazon’s net sales in 2017 reached 177.86 Billion dollars. This was an increase of around 42 Billion dollars over the previous year. Amazon’s net sales include the product and service sales. Revenue from product sales include the revenue generated from the sale of products as well as related shipping fees and digital media content. Service revenues represent the revenue from the third party seller fees as well as the related shipping fees, AWS sales, certain digital content subscriptions, advertising services and its cobranded credit card agreements.  Net sales increased by 31% in 2017 over the previous year and an impact of 210 million on net sales of foreign currency exchange rates was also recorded. In 2017, the net sales in North America  grew by 33% over the previous year. International sales grew by 23% in 2017 compared to 2016.
