Boeing has divided its business operations into three main segments with the largest segment being that of commercial airplanes. In 2022, it generated more than one third of its revenue from the commercial airplanes segment. However, while the company experienced growth in its total net sales in 2022, its net loss was also higher in 2022 compared to 2021. The company incurred net loss of $5,053 million in 2022 compared to $4,290 million in 2021.

Commercial airplanes are the leading source of revenue for Boeing accounting for almost 60% of its revenue in 2018. Boeing’s revenue from the commercial airplanes segment increased to $60,715 million in 2018 from $58,014 million in 2017. Total revenue of Boeing in 2018 was $101.13 Billion.
