The following tableĀ  shows the number of arrests of Juvenile offenders from 2000 to 2017 including the %age change year over year.

The total number of juvenile arrests in 2017 was 809,700. Females constituted 29% of all the juvenile arrests made in 2017. Youth under age 15 accounted for 28% of all the juvenile arrests. Apart from that white youth accounted for 62% of all juvenile arrests whereas 35% Black Youth. The number of arrests involving juveniles since 1980 was at its lowest in 2017. Much of this decline has taken place during last one decade. Between 2007 and 2017, juvenile arrest rates have fallen by around 60%.

Juvenile arrests for aggravated assault and robbery fell by 23% ad 11% between 2012 and 2016 respectively. However, Juvenile arrests for murder have increased y around 20% during the same period. Between 2007 and 2012, murder arrests of juveniles had declined by 44% when they reached their lowest. This decline was followed by an increase of 20% through 2017. Murder arrest rate of juveniles was at its peak in 1993 and in 2016 it was still 80% low compared to then.
